What X6 is

X6 is a chat and agent workspace that runs on your own computer. It uses the EdStratum Labs x6 model through a standard chat completions API and adds what a plain chat page lacks: tools, a plan, approvals, file handling, and checks on its own work.

Researches

Searches the web, reads pages, and cites what it found.

Builds

Writes code and pages in a workspace folder, runs them, and checks them in a headless browser.

Works with files

Reads, writes, and previews files. It also produces Word, PDF, and other documents.

Delegates

Splits large tasks into sub-tasks that run in parallel, each with its own tools and summary.

  • One server, one page. A Python server (standard library only) serves a single HTML page with no build step. The server holds the API keys; the browser never sees them.
  • Runs live on the server. When you send a message, the server starts an agent run. It streams replies, calls tools, and waits for approvals. Closing or reloading the page doesn’t stop it.
  • Chats are stored on the server, so every paired device sees the same conversations.
  • The model’s default instructions are kept. By default X6 sends no system message, so the model’s own deployment instructions apply; its safety behavior depends on them.
